Mentoring is the impetus of everything we do because we truly believe as our motto states “What They See is What They’ll Be.” Without the appropriate guidance between mentor and mentee which influence and reinforce behavior, our program areas are not as effective. Our mentoring is designed to be continuous, over time, and that is why we have adopted the mentoring model we call “Mentoring the 100 Way Across A Lifetime.”
Through its Mentoring program at David Thibodeaux Tech, and Lafayette Middle the 100 Black Men of Lafayette has provided mentees with guidance that has equipped mentees with the necessary foundational knowledge, skills and confidence which has guided the mentees in making positive choices in their everyday living, community, and career choices. |
Education is “The Big Equalizer” thus educating our young people is crucial to provide them the opportunities to achieve their full potential. This includes learning environments as well as academics. The 100 approaches education of our youth from a number of different aspects, each with the end in mind – positive impact.
